i got nothin to say about this one.

Shoo I finally got this fat boi on the blog. This is technically the first piece in my senior thesis series, it just took me forever to finished this one and get it up on the interwebs. That's Kanye West and he is just stompin his way through a Super Nintendo kinda world. I put him in that world for a number of reasons, firstly because he is tryin to be so 80's these days, as well as electronic, so I thought 80's electronics...Super Nintendo. Also I parallelled him mostly with Link cause if you asked Kanye if he was the Hero of Time we all know what his answer would prolly be. The rupee count is 808 because Kanye's most recent cd was called 808 and Heartbreak. He is carrying a cross/surge protector cause he is always playing Jesus, and he's doin his electro thing. This is a pretty large painting, about 3 feet by 3 feet, all acrylic paint. I got lil wayne commin up soon. Long live autontune.
My father was born in Shiraz, Iran. He recently asked me to do a piece concerning the Green Movement currently going on in Iran. The architecture in the background is a famous iranian bridge in Esfahan called the Khaju Bridge. I turned this one out relatively quickly over my Thanksgiving break and hope to sell a few prints. Sumi ink, white acrylic, and digital elements.
Concept art assignment for my digital illustration class. I decided to go with a character that I've been working with for sometime now. I've never colored this guy or put him in an environment so it was really fun working things out. Sumi ink, white acrylic, digital color. This dood is supposed to be enraged and indestructable.

I just did these logos for my friend Matt. He's starting up a little business, lemme break it down: you go to Baltimore and drink, then you call up Matt's business and he'll come pick you up and drive you home in your car, that's the general gist of it. You can check out the website at gocharmcityangels.com, pretty self exclamatory pieces, all sumi ink.

We were given the assignment to redesign the movie Logan's Run (1976), making it more contemporary, and less of a campy 70's sci-fi film. The film takes place in a postapocalyptic, futuristic society that lives in giant domes. They live in a world of constant pleasure and happiness, until they reach the age of 30 and then they must allow themselves to be killed. If anyone tries to avoid the standardized age of death they are hunted down by the Sandmen, who will stop at nothing to enforce the rule. The Sandmen in the original movie were regular guys with tiny laser guns, so I reinterpreted the Sandman as a large insect-like robot, or mech constrolled from within, or remotely. The scene at the top is a woman attempting to run, but getting snatched up by a Sandman-robot somewhere outside the boundaries of the city. The other two images are my designs for the clothing of the regular citizens. All acrylic with a little digital work.
This is an image from the story of Sinbad the Sailor. In one of Sinbad's many adventures he finds a vast canyon in which the floor is littered with diamonds. He discovers soon that this treasure is guarded by enormous bird-monsters called Rocs, and he is soon snatched up by one and taken to its nest. To find out what happens after that you'll have to read the rest of the story yourself, it's very exciting. This is the moment before Sinbad is grabbed by the Roc. Sumi ink, charcoal, white acrylic and ballpoint pen. I know the piece is a weird shape, but it kept growing so i just added new pieces of paper as I saw fit.

This is an environment I did for the Theseus project. In the original myth, the entrance to the Labyrinth (where the minotaur lived) was described as more of a hole than a gate or door that the sacrificial greek boys and girls were thrown down. This is how I envisioned the entrance that you would get chucked in if you were chosen to face the bull/man. Acrylic and sumi ink as usual, with a little ball point pen.
